we are going to learn about the five essential tips that will help you in a group discussion. so what are these five tips, let us look into it.

➡️ Always Carry a Notepad.

the first one is always carry a notepad and a pen. how will this help you well. when you carry a notepad and a pen you can jot down the points, usually once the HR gives you a topic. he or she also gives you two minutes of time to prepare yourself. mentally at this point of time, you can use this notepad and pen to jot down your thoughts. you can make a note of these things also when you have a book and a pen there while the discussion is going on you can make a note of the points that has been discussed, you can also note a point. if you remember suddenly. so that you do not miss out on talking or discussing about important point in this way a notepad and a pen will always help you in a group discussion.

➡️  Body Language.

the second one is your body language and eye contact. you must never show an aggressive body language. always maintain your eye contact with all the participants in a group discussion. if you are disagreeing or agreeing to someone start your conversation or discussion by looking at that particular person. but end your discussion by looking at everyone, remember you are discussing with every participant in the discussion. there also use your gestures hands open. gestures do not point out on the particular person.

➡️  Active Listening.

the third one is active listening make sure that you listen carefully and then respond to any participant do not interrupt a person. unnecessarily only interrupt the person. if he or she has made the main point that is being discussed.

➡️  Participate.

the fourth one is participate at regular intervals. when you participate do not tell all your points at once what will happen. when you say all the points at once, next time you will hardly have something to speak or contribute to the discussion. so what you do is divide your points, take two points discuss about that listen to what is the response then go ahead with the other two points in this way. you are participating at regular intervals and the HR or the person. who is in the slating is noticing you.

➡️  Summarising.

the final tip is summarization. sometimes the HR picks up a person randomly and would ask you or that person to summarize the point. remember one thing while you summarize do not add your opinions. when you are summarising the point the discussion is already over so in your summary you only have to pick up the main points, that the group has discussed and just mentioned those main points in the summary do not try to add your opinion or do not try to contribute a new point in the summary there.
